Laying on of hands, with or without anointing and prayer for healing of spirit, emotions and body are available in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit) immediately after 10.30am Sunday Worship, on request to any of the following: Andrew or Biddy Dawson, Kathy or Graham Lees, Alf Wild or Barbara Duxbury. If possible ask someone other than Graham or Andrew, as they are the least likely to be available. The person you approach will ask another member of the Healing Team to join you both in the South Transept for ministry.

Churches Together in Oldham Annual Meal is on Friday 24 February, 7pm for 7.30, at the Salt Cellar: speaker is Dave Smith of the Boaz Trust, working with those asylum-seekers who no longer have Home Office support. Choice of 2 starters, main courses and desserts. See choices on the table at the back, and book on the clipboard. £13 payable to Biddy Dawson.

Exhibition about HIV projects in Kenya: one project gives support and treatment to families where there is HIV infection. The other brings 200 children together on Saturdays. At our Cathedral until 19 February.

   THANKSGIVING AND PRAYER REQUESTS  

 

  • Give thanks and pray for the Tudor Community Sports Group – with a planning application for floodlights, and meeting on Monday
  • Give thanks and pray for members of the Deanery Synod – meeting on Tuesday about relationships in the Anglican Communion
  • Give thanks for our school – pray for Year 3 classes visiting St Thomas’ on 6 & 8 February.
  • People connected with our church engaged in outreach at home and abroad: especially Joe and Denny Fleming at the Christian Medical Centre, Vellore, India – engaged not only in medical work but in witnessing to non-Christians and equipping Christians among staff and students; D, M, K and Ka W, teaching English and giving Christian experience to adults and children
  • Refugees and people seeking asylum: give thanks that Andy, Azam, Marzia, Haleh, and James, Olga, Michael & Gabriel have refugee status. Pray for them as they change their income and housing arrangements. Pray for others still seeking asylum: David, Sobia, young Sara and Daniel William; Hawani; Maryam; Alireza and Azra; Nilou; Mahtab; Ali and Shabnam; Hooman; Masood; Afsana; Mohammed; Arash; Hussain; Iman; Maria and Parmida; Babak.
  • Those who are unwell: give thanks for progress in Tom Parkinson and Marjorie Spivey. Continue to pray for them, and for Ron Spivey, Ivy Reynolds, young Harry Pleasant, Jenny Bartlett, Comal Sankaran, Norman and Alma Flint, Andy and Ruth Sharrock, Beatrice Howard, young Aaron Funnell, Raymond Scott, Alan Broome, Enid Gregson, Dinah McLeod, Chris Buckley, Ann Heeks, Win Waterhouse and others whom we know.
