Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit).  You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You are also welcome to request prayer on behalf of someone else, in addition to or instead of yourself.

Oldham Unity  still need supermarket carrier bags for their free food shop for asylum-seekers.

Manchester Diocesan Healing Day:run by the well-respected Acorn Christian Healing Foundation. Saturday 4 September, 10am to 4pm at Manchester Cathedral. Leaflets with booking forms at the back, please hand completed form to Barbara Duxbury by 25 July. Cost is £10. Bring your own lunch.

Holiday Club requests:  Kathy Lees now has enough of the requested items, except for a donkey soft toy. Does anyone have a donkey to lend?

   THANKSGIVING AND PRAYER REQUESTS  

 

  • Tudor Community Sports Group – meeting on the 12th, and engaging Greenhill Sports to organise activities throughout the summer holidays
  • Interfaith Forum – meeting on the 15th
  • Sophie May Dennis – to be baptised on the 18th
  • Clergy of the diocese –giving thanks for their conference and praying for continuing inspiration
  • St Thomas School –our continuing relationship with them following their Summer Fair
  • Holiday Club –team members in preparation and in action, families deciding about sending their children, and the children as they learn more about Jesus
  • Finance & Fabric Committee –meeting on the 22nd
  • Nick and Gina Andrewes, Isabel and Esther, and the people of St Paul’s
  • Give thanks and pray for people we know in Christian service and outreach, especially Shelagh Wynne in Thailand, an administrator equipping serving Friends of China; all involved in service and outreach at the Salt Cellar; the Jennings family in Bangladesh (James serving as a consultant in education throughout south-east Asia; Di serving as a wife, mother and member of their church; Hannah doing research into Bangladeshi herbal medicine; Beth leading a Children’s Uplift Project for those who have been abused; Nathaniel, Donna and Micah teaching English and working within a local church in a small town; Sarah teaching English for speakers of other languages in Indonesia; Andrew nearing the end of his gap year).
  • People seeking asylum: pray for David, Sobia, young Sara and baby Daniel William; Azam Shirazi; supporters of Oldham Unity as they meet on the 19th
  • Those who are unwell: give thanks for some progress in young Harry Pleasant, Norman Taylor, Alan Haslam and James Reed. Continue to pray for them, and for Jenny Bartlett, Wendy Robinson, young Roxy Butler, Comal Sankaran, Ivy Reynolds, Norman and Alma Flint, Andy and Ruth Sharrock, Beatrice Howard, Grace Whetham, young twins Todd & Aaron Funnell, John Wrigley, Angela Taylor, Ronald Spivey, Julie Brown, Jenny Brisland, Janet Morris, and others whom we know.
  • The bereaved – especially the families and friends of Muriel Brown and Joan Groves.
