Laying on of hands, with or without anointing and prayer for healing of spirit, emotions and body are available in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit) immediately after 10.30am Sunday Worship, on request to any of the following: Andrew or Biddy Dawson, Kathy or Graham Lees, Alf Wild or Barbara Duxbury. If possible ask someone other than Graham or Andrew, as they are the least likely to be available. The person you approach will ask another member of the Healing Team to join you both in the South Transept for ministry. Following Bible Sunday on 23 October: remember the variety of booklets available to help with personal Bible reading. Try one, or any. At the back. Captain John O’Neill, Church Army, a former member of St Thomas’, heads the Lisburn Centre of Mission in Ulster. Requiem by Duruflé: Eucharist for the Faithful Departed, music by our Cathedral Choir. 5.30pm on Wednesday 2 November. Do you need to make a will? A convenient way is available throughout November, as many solicitors all over the country, including in our borough, are joining Will Aid. A reduced fee applies, which will go to one of the UK’s nine best-loved charities. Full details, including the names of solicitors taking part, are at the back. You can also use this opportunity to make changes (codicils) to your existing will for a smaller fee. Near Neighbours is a new government fund offering grants to six cities and towns, including Oldham. These are for interfaith initiatives, either in dialogue or in practical action, or both, eg the Tudor Community Sports Group. The government will be monitoring the success or otherwise of this scheme by issuing a questionnaire to residents where grants are made. The first questionnaire is issued before any grants are made, to establish a baseline before grants make a difference (or not). Please complete it as best you can, and post it. It is anonymous.
