Laying on of hands, with or without anointing and prayer for healing of spirit, emotions and body are available in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit) immediately after 10.30am Sunday Worship.

Churchyard gardening this afternoon (Sunday 24th), weather permitting.

Werneth PACT (Partners and Community Together): an opportunity to talk about crime, the environment or any local services. On Thursday 28 July, 6.30pm at Christ Church, Chadderton.

‘Foundations for Ministry’: a diocesan course at 90 Deansgate, Manchester. 24 evenings from September to June. Covers applying faith to life, discovering our own gifts and using them with others, using the Bible, praying, sharing our faith. £60 though possible free place. Apply to Andrew by Wednesday 27 July. Leaflet at the back.

‘Churchwatch’ is free training by the diocese, covering personal safety, reducing the risk of crime, etc. Leaflet at the back. Christ Church, Chadderton, on Monday 3 October, 7.30 to 9.30pm. Apply to Andrew by Sunday 7 August.

Word of Life Australia: prayer letter for August, copy at the back.

This is the last Sunday of the Sunday School year, and the children will be happy to show you what they bought with their book tokens! Many thanks to our Sunday School teachers and their assistants for their devoted service over the past year!

“The Word Revealed”: a diocesan service to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, with Riding Lights Theatre Company and others. Sunday 23 October at 3pm in the Cathedral. Poster and form for free tickets at the back. Book by 14 August.

  • Give thanks for the handrail and carpet, adding to the physical and visual welcome of this building – pray for our welcome to occasional visitors
  • Give thanks and pray for the opportunities of the holiday club
  • People connected with our church engaged in outreach at home and abroad: especially Shelagh Wynne in Thailand, an administrator equipping serving Friends of China; and all involved in service and outreach at the Salt Cellar
  • People seeking asylum: give thanks that Azam has 5 years Leave to Remain, and pray for her as she adjusts to her new situation. Pray for David, Sobia, young Sara and Daniel William; Hawani; Maryam; Alireza; Azra; Nader; Nilou; Mahtab; Syed Ali; Shabnam; Hooman; Masood; Afsana. Pray for them all as they take part in baptism preparation and/or Bible study.
  • Those who are unwell: pray for Ivy Reynolds, young Harry Pleasant, Jenny Bartlett, Comal Sankaran, Norman and Alma Flint, Andy and Ruth Sharrock, Beatrice Howard, young Aaron Funnell, Raymond Scott, Alan Broome, Enid Gregson, Dinah McLeod, Ron Spivey, Joan Finlayson, Hasti, Sylvia Vickers, the victims of famine in East Africa, the injured in Norway, and others whom we know.
  • The bereaved: in particular the families and friends of Jenny Brisland, Christine Buckley, Mavis Crewe, Thomas Standring, Andrew Stanford, those who have died of starvation in East Africa, and those killed in Norway.
