Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit).  You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You are also welcome to request prayer on behalf of someone else, in addition to or instead of yourself.

8am Holy Communion on 22 August is cancelled because it has not been possible to find a locum. Morning Worship on that day will take place as usual at 10.30am.

The wine at Communionon 1 and 15 August is from a Fairtrade supplier in South Africa. The vineyard serves as an organic educational farming project and the proceeds are shared by the school and the employees. Do you notice any difference?

Heritage Open Day:once again we are taking part in the national scheme. We need volunteers to show visitors around and/or make tea/coffee. Visitors are not numerous but are usually interesting, including some on the fundraising ‘Ride & Stride’ sponsorship round local churches. Saturday 11 September, hourly blocks between 10am and 4pm. We would prefer a minimum of 3 people to be present at any given time. Please sign the rota at the back.

Scargill Movement: copies of their April newsletter are available at the back. Scargill House in Wharfedale is re-opening with a new Christian Community offering renewal programmes to visitors.

Prom Praise is a touring concert by the All Souls’ Orchestra, professional and skilled amateur players who are Christians linked to All Souls’ Church, Langham Place, opposite Broadcasting House, London. The programme will include both Christian and popular secular pieces. At the Bridgewater Hall, Saturday 18 September. Tickets from Box Office or 0161 907 9000.

Oldham Unity still need supermarket carrier bags and egg boxes for their free food shop for asylum-seekers.
