Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit).  You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You are also welcome to request prayer on behalf of someone else, in addition to or instead of yourself.

Inter-Church Quiz, during the International Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, is at Oldham Baptist Church, Chaucer Street, on Saturday 23 January. The time is 7 for 7.30. Potato or Cheese Pie supper included. Cost £2·50. Teams are 4 – 6 people, and we can enter as many teams as we wish. Sign the clipboard at the back by Sunday 17th.

Bishop Chris at Churches Together in Oldham Dinner: the Bishop of Bolton will speak about his experiences as Warden of Lee Abbey in Devon, and current plans for the revival of the Scargill House Community in Yorkshire. At the Salt Cellar on Friday 12 February. Tickets £14. Additional info: please select starter (Melon, Leek & Potato Soup, Brussels Pâté on toast), main course (Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Vegetable Lasagne – both with seasonal vegetables), and dessert (Apple Pie with Custard or Cream, Lemon Cheesecake, Fruit Salad). Coffee included. Use the pink booking form at the back and return via Biddy Dawson by Sunday 24 January.

†  Give thanks and pray for people we know in Christian service and outreach, especially Shelagh Wynne, an administrator equipping serving Friends of China; all involved in service and outreach at the Salt Cellar; the Jennings family based in Bangladesh.

†  People seeking asylum: give thanks that Marta Yacub has residency and a work permit in Canada. She is working as a Health Assistant and has a place on a Nursing course. Pray for David, Sobia, young Sara and baby Daniel William. Pray also for Oldham Unity as they meet on the 18th.

†  Those who are unwell. Give thanks for progress in Nathaniel Jennings, Andrew Dawson, Hilda Bateson and George Gill. Continue to pray for them and for baby Roxy Butler, Wendy Robinson, Norman and Alma Flint, Andy Sharrock and his wife Ruth caring for him, Beatrice Howard, baby Harry Pleasant, Barbara Hogg, Helen Holt, Joanna Goforth, John Lalley, Grace Whetham, Ian Kidder, Muriel Brown, Marjorie Milner, young twins Todd & Aaron Funnell, Julie Brown, John Wrigley, Angela and Norman Taylor, Jenny Bartlett, Ronald Spivey, and others whom we know.
