Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit). You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You are also welcome to request prayer on behalf of someone else, in addition to or instead of yourself.

Harvest Thanksgiving is next Sunday:

1.
Please bring food which can be given to the Booth Centre, Manchester. As their cooking facilities are limited, please choose foods from the following list:

üSandwich fillings – tinned ham, corned beef, tuna, peanut butter, pickle, piccalilli, mayonnaise, salad cream, mustard
üDrinks – coffee, hot chocolate, cup-a-soups, sugar
üFruit
üBiscuits
üCook-in sauces – eg for pasta, stews or curries

2.
Available this Sunday and throughout October are mail-order catalogues for Christmas cards and other items, in aid of people in poor countries. You may borrow catalogues for one week only. Order on the forms at the back. Queries to Biddy Dawson.

3.
Invite someone to join you at Harvest worship, a family member or friend. Harvest is more user-friendly than some Services and does not commit people in advance to weekly worship. Even if people say ‘no’, we are letting them know that we value both them and worship.

Manchester Diocesan Healing Day: in previous Notices the deadline for booking (27 September) was not printed – apologies. No doubt the eight of us who are taking part will bring back helpful insights.

Chair-based exercises for postural stability: by Michelle Westhead, fully qualified instructor, course organised by NHS Primary Care Trust. In the Vestry on Mondays at 3.15 to 4.15 from 21 September. Free for 12 sessions.

Word of Life Australia: October Prayer Letter, copies at the back.

Speaker is Mark Dowd, of Channel 4’s ‘God is Green’. At the Cathedral, 9.30am - 4pm on Thursday October 8, including worship at 1.10pm with Commissioning by the Archbishop of York.

Concluding with Holy Communion. Saturday, 10 October, at St Anne’s, Royton, 9.30 – 1.30 pm.
