Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit). You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You are also welcome to request prayer on behalf of someone else, in addition to or instead of yourself.
‘Redeeming our Communities’: an initiative involving local churches working with neighbourhood police teams. Events are being arranged for all the boroughs of Greater Manchester. The one in Oldham will be at 7pm on Thursday 26 November at Chadderton Congregational Church, Garforth Street.
Christmas presents with a difference: leaflets at the back from Mothers’ Union, CMS and the Boaz Trust (Christian charity working with asylum-seekers in the Greater Manchester area). If you want to place an order, take away the appropriate leaflet.

Turn2us is a charity which helps people access benefits and grants. They have commissioned research which shows that 80% of people are more worried about money than they were 6 months ago, but many are not well-prepared should they lose their main source of income. Leaflets at the back.
Karin Whetham officially retired as our Parish Worker last month. We thank her and we thank God for her work with Asian people, including asylum-seekers and refugees. It’s great news that Karin will continue this work in her retirement. The Church Council has decided to re-allocate our contribution to Interserve in respect of Karin to Joe and Denny Fleming, who work in Vellore, India.
‘GO’ is Interserve’s magazine. The current issue includes an interesting article entitled “Mission and the Media”. Copies to borrow at the back.

Solicitors who have opted into Will-Aid offer to draw up your Will free during November, on condition that you make a donation (equivalent to the fee) to one of the following charities: Save the Children, NSPCC, Christian Aid, Help the Aged, Red Cross, Action Aid or Sightsavers. Canned soups are available at the back, in exchange for donations to Oldham Unity. They have been given but are unsuitable for most asylum-seekers.
