Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the SouthTransept (to the right of the pulpit). You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You are also welcome to request prayer on behalf of someone else, in addition to or instead of yourself.
The new priest appointed to St Paul’s is the Revd Nick Andrewes, at present priest-in-charge of Lower Crumpsall and St Mark’s, Cheetham. He will be Licensed towards the end of May. When Andrew retires in approx 4 years’ time, barring the unforeseen, Nick will also be Licensed as p-in-c of St Thomas’. Our churchwardens have played a full part in the appointment process. Andrew and Nick have had conversations and are confident that they can work with each other.

Bishop Chris at Churches Together in Oldham Dinner:the Bishop of Bolton will speak about his experiences as Warden of Lee Abbey in Devon, and current plans for the revival of the Scargill House Community in Yorkshire. At the Salt Cellar on Friday 12 February. Tickets £14. re: Lent is a creative worship event, led by Bishop Mark and others, for young and old to explore together Jesus’ story of the Good Samaritan together and think about the role of forgiveness and reconciliation. Each event has been times to enable children to attend aswell as young people and adults. Each session will include bible study and interactive creative activities. Vestry light switches – have been repaired. Please do not flick the switches up and down repeatedly as that will shorten their lives.
Werneth Ward Partners and Community Together (PACT) – opportunity to talk to Ward councillors and officers, about environments, highways, housing, crime or anything else. At Christ Church, Chadderton, this Thursday, 7 – 9 pm.
Are you and yours warm enough? Vulnerable people are at extra risk of dying during the winter months due to an increased risk of strokes and heart attacks when they don’t stay warm enough in their homes. Those living on a low income and in poor housing are most at risk. Social Workers can give help and information about keeping warm, using energy more efficiently, grants available for heating and insulation, and home repairs. They can be contact on 0161 770 4799 or via the person’s GP.
