Laying on of hands and anointing: for healing of mind, body and spirit is available after 10.30 worship every Sunday in the South Transept (to the right of the pulpit). You will not be invited to say specifically why you seek this ministry, though you are welcome to do so if you wish.

Called to Ministry? “Living Stones” is an annual conference for anyone exploring God’s call on their life, whether it be to particular accredited ministries in the Church and local community, or to developing their ministry in the context of the wider world. Meet ordinands in training, Church Army officers, ordained local Ministers, Readers, youth workers and others. Saturday 3 October, 9.45 to 4pm at Bolton Road Methodist Church, Bury BL8 2NZ. £6 including lunch. Booking forms at the back.
Swine flu precautions: as the number of new cases has decreased for the time being, the Diocese has decided that for the present it will be safe to shake hands or kiss at the Peace and to share a common chalice. We are asked to continue constant washing of hands and use of hand gel. Poster with more info in porch.
Chair-based exercises for postural stability: by Michelle Westhead, fully qualified instructor, course organised by NHS Primary Care Trust. In vestry on Mondays at 3.15 to 4.15 from 21 September. Free for 12 sessions.
‘Ann Frank and you’: new multi-media exhibition, includes her photo album, a replica of Ann’s bedroom and an interactive virtual tour of the secret annexe. Also presents contemporary issues including racism in football, the right to wear religious symbols, bullying. Suitable for everyone aged ten years or more.
Oldham Reaching Muslims meets this month at 7.30 pm on Thursday 17th , at Chadderton Congregational Church. The speaker will be Stewart Binns of Word of Life Australia.
Art for God, an exhibition about being inspired by God and for God through the art and architecture of Manchester’s churches: in the Cathedral from 19 September – 30 October. Free admission.

Archdeaconry School of Prayer: opening address by Bishop Mark followed by options to choose from – Praying through Art; through the use of imagination; through the use of the Jesus prayer; through the ‘Lectio Divina’ in a group; in the Spirit; through the places of the See of Galilee. Concluding with Holy Communion. Saturday, 10 October, at St Anne’s, Royton, 9.30 – 1.30 pm.
Manchester Diocesan Healing Day led by Iona Community members: introductory address on the way the Community uses healing services, followed by workshops in which to learn and experience Saturday, 17 October, 9.45 – 4.15 pm. £10. Registration forms at the back.
