We have listed here a number of recent non-routine events to give an idea of what felowship and activities church members engage in outside of worship.

Visit to Fairfield Moravian Settlement .

The Moravian Church is one of the smaller religious bodies in Britain.

The Fairfield settlement was opened in 1785. It was planned and built by it's own people. The village was self-contained and self-governed, with its inn, shop, bakery, farm, laundry, fire-engine, night-watchman, inspector of weights and measures, an overseer of roads, and even it's own physician. There were community houses for sisters and brethren, who applied themselves to the varied work of the settlement.

Twenty church members made the short trip to Droylsden and had an excellent afternoon touring thwe settlement and visiting the museum.

Jewellery Evening

On Tuesday December 1st church members and friends attended West End Bowling Club for the  ‘Out of Africa’ Jewellery Evening,  supporting small-scale producers in Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo. There was a short presentation describing the items and how they were made, followed by the opportunity to purchase them.

The Jewellery was so popular that a large queue quickly built up. Lots of 'what present shall I buy' problems were solved.
