St Thomas, Werneth

Venue

The refurbishment of St. Thomas' Church is soon to be complete - with new underfloor heating; kitchen; toilets; and entrance ramp. It will be a stunning, Grade II listed venue, available to the community.

However, please note that the building has not yet been redecorated. Some of the walls need repainting. Some parts of the walls have no plaster on them! It is likely to take a number of years for all this work to be completed.

The venue will be available to hire by the community. However there are certain ground rules that need to be followed:

  • No alcohol is to be consumed by third party groups hiring the premeses.
  • The building is still a church. We are not permitted by law to allow acts of worship from other religions to take place in St. Thomas' Church.
  • The kitchen is primarily for community activities: healthy eating and cooking courses. It is not a commercial kitchen. Food must cooked off-site and then delivered to the church. Please note that the kitchen has an induction hob. Therefore proper induction pots and pans must be used.
  • The building must be left as you found it.
  • THE FLOOR: the floor must not be allowed to get wet. Also please be aware that strong stains and dyes should be used with extreme care!
  • You can find a list of regular activities below. These are times that the venue is NOT available for booking
  • For private bookings, the charge will be £30 per hour (while the decorations are not yet complete) plus an optional £5 per hour if the kitchen cutlery, and crockery are to be used.
  • No balloons, posters, streamers, etc are to be attached to the walls or the woodwork.
